The World Drum came of its own accord at this time to us in Ireland, as it had some free time between being in Holland and going to the Philippines. I have been a supporter of this project since I first heard of it on Manataka in 2007 and so was very glad to take advantage of the visit at short notice.
From the moment it came out of its container and entered my home a beautiful presence was felt and joy was all around the place, I felt glad and very privileged to have such a visitor.
Invitations were sent out to all corners of our Island and a Ceremony took shape with those who chose to come at this time, and a place became available in Dublin. The venerable Concert Hall of the Royal Dublin Society, as a prelude to the Ecstatic Dance Club, The Funky Seomra.
We start the Ceremony by opening the Sacred Space, preparing with smudging all the folk involved, cleansing and blessing the area.
The six main participants took their places, and shape the Ceremony took was to Place the Drum and its Player, Sinéad of Living Rhythms, at the Sacred Centre of our Island, The Hill of Uisneach, and call to each of the Provinces in each of the four Directions.
We now introduced the World Drum and read the manifest as the circle forms around us. I complete a full circle and the Heart Beat of Mother Earth is invoked with the World Drum.
We call to Leinster in the East, Gabby, Shamanic apprentice, brings forth the Sword of Nuada, Sacred Hallow of our Land, bringing the specific message from the East and asking its specific blessings in return. Gabby joins Sinead in the Centre and takes up the Heartbeat drumming rhythm.
We call to Munster in the South, Deidre, Priestess Shaman, brings forth the Spear of Lugh, Sacred Hallow of our Land, bringing the specific message from the South and asking its specific blessings in return. Deidre joins Sinead and Gabby in the Centre and takes up the Heartbeat drumming rhythm.
We call to Connaught in the West, Cait, Priestess Shaman, brings forth the Cauldron of Dagda, Sacred Hallow of our Land, bringing the specific message from the West and asking its specific blessings in return. Cait joins Sinead, Gabby and Deidre in the Centre and takes up the Heartbeat drumming rhythm.
We call to Ulster in the North, Ulrike, Shaman, brings forth the Stone of Danu, Sacred Hallow of our Land, bringing the specific message from the North and asking its specific blessings in return. Ulrike joins Sinead, Gabby, Deidre and Cait in the Centre and takes up the Heartbeat drumming rhythm.
Now we all join in chanting the following words, which develops in harmonies as the drum goes around for all to beat with their Scared Intentions. (This chant came to Deidre at Loughcrew, a sacred stone site in Ireland).

The Beauty of this Land fills my Heart and Fires my Soul
The Beauty of this Land is a part of us all
Aye Mama, Aye Mama, Aye Mama, Eriu
Aye Mama, Aye Mama, Aye Mama, Eriu
We received very positive feedback from all that participated that the energies there that night were very good.
I would like to have the Drum back again to Ireland and bring it in person to the Hill of Uisneach, the sacred centre of our island, for a ceremony that would be better publicised nationally, then bring it to the four provinces civic offices and continue the ceremony in front of their doors, calling on our people and our leaders to participate in saving nature from the current needless destruction. This, I feel, would gain some national publicity and fulfil on the World Drums mission.
I feel that this impromptu visit was a seed sown for a future event.
Sinéad then brought the World Drum to several of her workshops and it was very much appreciated.
“Here are some words written by Andreas from our drum circle on his experience of the world drum. I think they are very powerful and sum up the community experience that day”. Sinéad. www.livingrhythm.ie
"....that day our circle was reminded directly through the presence of the world drum that we are all connected in one big global community...
My experience with the world drum was powerfully positive.
Until I felt and heard the drum it looked interesting but not much more.
When The World Drum was struck Boom... I shook...
Boom through me ... Boom sung through me... Boom shook my body... Boom through my heart... Boom through all me... Boom
Each beat sent waves rippling through me
Through my core, through my heart, resonating deeply
I knew that just as our body stores memories deep in our cells, this instrument conceived of and built for the highest good, stores and remembers every prayer and loving intention that it picked up at every gathering where it has been. And so, at every gathering where The World Drum is struck, all prayers are sent out once more, all loving thoughts enlivened, once more all the positive vibes are broadcast again out to our Global community.
My prayer is to All
Wake up
Wake up to Love
For Loves sake waken ye up and Love
With Love Awake and be love
And Beloved wake up, We are love incarnate
No matter how it may seem We Are perfect expressions of love
So wake up and Love"
