What tremendous work the World Drum accomplished throughout the Hawaiian
Islands!
Whether the ceremony included 16 or 60 people, each one was able to
share in the Mana (power)
of the Drum's heartbeat. . . we facilitated ceremonies at Kukui Puka
(Column of Light),
one of the ancient feminine/dreamer Heiaus (outdoor temples) on Maui,
with Hawaiian, Native American, Toltec (Mayan), Japanese, German,
English, and several other nations represented.
Each person gave their intention to a Sacred Fire in the middle of
the circle.
We offered songs and hula as well as prayer and intention.
Our date with the Big Island was in unintentional conflict with the
Merry Monarch Hula Festival -
an annual event that draws thousands from every island.
So attendance was small, intimate, but no less powerful.
Each of the participants got to spend quality time with the World
Drum
and share their prayers and mana with the Drum,
so that she can carry
it with her as she travels.
Kauai told a different story. Attendance was better, and strongly
feminine,
with only one male present.
His prayer was that brothers all over the world re-awaken to the
Divine Feminine within and stop all war and greed.
We did a 'spiral drum' ceremony for each person - we spiraled counter-clockwise
from the earth to the sky while each person offered their prayer of
release; then spiraled back to Mother Earth to ground their intentions
for peace and restoration of the connections
between All Our Relations.
O'ahu was the most unique ceremony,
as it was held in a beautiful
park that used to be a landfill.
Every few feet there was a vent to allow methane gas to escape . .
.
and its a park where homeless folks hang out a lot.
So we invited them to join us, even though several had been drinking
and using other substances.
They felt the joy of the Drum, and its healing power. One man in particular
recognized his need. . .
I pray that he is now sober, as I could see that he has much to offer
if he will set aside the alcohol.
My thought during this ceremony was, "Where better to bring this
Drum and its Mana?"
And so we offered prayers for the healing of Mother Earth, and the
deepening of each person's wisdom and ability to act for the good
of all.
Thanks, Morten, for all you're doing!!
Blessings ~
